Intro - Questions
Jesus asked a question -
Mark 10:51 - And Jesus said to him,
“What do you want me to do for you?”
This question reveals:
What we think about ourselves.
What we think about Jesus. And
What we think our greatest need is.
Twice in Mark 10 - James & John and Bartimaeus
1. What we think about ourselves.
James and John - highly of themselves.
Mark 10:37-39 - 39 And they said to him, “We are able.”
Bartimaeus - humbled himself
Mark 10:47-48 - “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
2. What we think about Jesus.
James and John - Jesus is a conquering king.
Mark 10 - 37 And they said to him, “Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory.”
Bartimaeus - the Messiah, the Son of David.
“Son of David, have mercy on me!”
3. What we think our greatest need is.
James and John - glory
Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory.”
Bartimaeus - healing
Mark 10:51 - “Master, let me receive my sight.”

Mark 10:52 - 52 And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.
