Homeless, Hunger, Hurt, Hated, Humble
Homeless (poor) -
“Blessed are you who are poor (homeless),
for yours is the kingdom of God.
Poor - ho ptochos - materially poor, needy, destitute.
Hungry -
“Blessed are you who are hungry now,
for you shall be satisfied.
Hungry - ho peinao - physically hungry, deprivation of food
Matt 25:35 - For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
Hurt (weep) -
“Blessed are you who weep (hurt) now,
for you shall laugh.
Weep - ho klaio - to cry, wail, lament. Expression of grief and sorrow at loss.
Sin causes pain and pain causes tears to flow.
“Tears are like blood in the wounds of the soul.” Gregory of Nyssa (Prayer, Richard Foster, p.37)
Hated -
“Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! 23 Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.
Hate - miseo - hate, detest, love less.

Humble -
I Peter 5:5 - “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
Humble - tapeinos - humble, bow down, put others first
Philippians 2:5-11 - 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
The Gospel is the Good News of the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus Christ by which we become the Righteousness of God.
