The Context - Questions by Believers
The Gospel is the Good News of the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus Christ by which we become the Righteousness of God.
The Perspective - Believers are Co-Laborers with Jesus.
I Corinthians 3:9 - For we are God's
fellow workers (Co-Laborers).
Series of Q & A between John and Jesus:
Luke 9:48 - For he who is least among you all is the one who is great.”
Luke 9:50 - for the one who is not against you is for you.”
#3, Jesus rebukes John.
Question Answer
Who is the greatest? The least among you.
Who is with us? Those not against us.
Who is against us? Rebuke
Raises an issue - What Question am I asking Jesus?
This is very honoring.
Jesus is honoring me as a Co-Laborer.
This makes sense to me. Adult learning is topic driven.
Jesus is paying attention to us.
Three more interactions occur.
Luke 9:58 - the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
Luke 9:60 - go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:62 - looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Question Answer
Who is the greatest? I am the least.
Who is with us? I go and proclaim the K of God.
Who is against us? I do not look back.
Immediate Application - What Question am I asking Jesus?
The follow up Question - Do I listen for the answer?
